I am a British oil painter. I dreamt of being an artist since childhood. At the point of leaving school the careers advisor asked me what profession I wanted to be. ‘A sculptor’ was my answer. So, later having left my career as a professional engineer, I started my dream.

During my engineering career, I enjoyed pottery and photography. My photography was pre-digital and with hand printing gave me the creativity outlet. I learnt my craft through my camera club and progressed to Chairman of the club. The photography has been invaluable for my understanding composition, lighting, etc..

I was never really that happy with painting until I tried oils and after the first picture I new this was the medium for me. At this point, my favourite subjects are carnival characters and boat/water scenes.
